Marteleron Announces Availability of IPJunction™ with Open Trial Period
The First Centralized Gateway Addressing Service Unlocks Potential for
IP-based Communication across Carrier Networks
NEW YORK, November 10, 2008 - Marteleron today announced the launch of its
IPJunction™ centralized gateway addressing service which provides gateway
information for the termination of voice and other IP-based calls. To
introduce IPJunction to the market, Marteleron is offering a free trial of
its service to the telecommunications community.
By enabling carriers to route these calls without relying on the Public
Switched Telephone Network (PSTN), Marteleron empowers carriers to avoid
unnecessary fees and take advantage of the benefits of Voice over IP (VoIP)
and other packet-based communications, as well as soft gateways and new
revenue-driving subscriber services. IPJunction requires no hardware
eliminating the capital expenditure required by other addressing systems,
and making it easy to implement.
"Costs, competition, subscriber demand and potential for new value-added
services are driving communication carriers to migrate customers to
packet-based communications," said Mario Aluf-Medina, chief operating
officer, Marteleron. "IPJunction marries the centralized architecture that
has been proven by the PSTN to be the most logical way to achieve a national
registry service with the advanced functionality required by next generation
networks."
IPJunction directs voice and other packet-based communications to their
gateway destinations, allowing them to avoid the PSTN and connect directly
over an IP network. Moreover, IPJunction's architecture allows for seamless
integration with the current telephone numbering system, while providing
flexibility to accommodate emerging standards. Marteleron is a neutral
third-party, not aligned with any individual carrier, service provider or
technology vendor, and requires no subscriber information. Carriers retain
control over their own phone numbers and IP addresses.
Other benefits of IPJunction include local number portability and
international routing.
IPJunction allows for efficient real-time, on-line number portability for
VoIP phone numbers and appropriate system updates for subscribing carriers,
and can route to any country/carrier with an available gateway.
IP Junction also allows carriers to design systems for secure links to
enterprises' corporate networks for mobile office connectivity, custom
functionality such as refusal of unknown caller, refusal of 800 numbers,
etc. and CALEA compliance or legal call intercept.
